For whatever reason, I have been meeting with and conversing with men who are in a gang.
I remember when The Ricki Lake show was popular. And the aired an episode with gang members. They talked about their lifestyle, how and why they joined I was amazed at what was being said.
I remember hearing about the different wars between the different groups. And laws being passed due to the increase in crimes. And then, it seemed to me that things had died off .
Two decades went by where I had not heard a single thing about gangs. So why was I meeting these types of men?
The pattern that I was seeing was, once a person reached their early thirties, it seemed that they were discarded in a sense. Almost like their age made then suddenly useless. Useless for whatever purpose.
It makes me think of a pedophile. They target kids and not adults for a reason. Once that child reaches a certain age, they are no longer interested. From the documentaries I watched, they liked when they were about to control the mind and emotions of a child.
I wondered were previous people within the organization, similar? Did they purposefully recruit younger people? Did they need to come from a broken home? Fatherless children? I must say, I do not know. I do not know the mindset of that kind of lifestyle.
I have also noticed that these men were no longer, what they called, “active” once their Saturn return ended. Which would put them at the age of their early thirties.
What they’ve all expressed to me was that they wanted out of the lifestyle because they wanted to live.
Their outer tough exterior showed that deep down inside of them, there is a heart. And it’s a heart that yearns for love, to be loved. To be nurtured. To feel spiritually safe.
I think when a person wants a change, the best thing to do is relocate. Whether it’s a different city or a different state. And they have to leave like a thief in the night!
A fresh start, new phone number, and a new job will make anyone sleep just a little bit better at night.
